cve is considered a custom builder but i would call them anything but... changes i have made to my home during the building process have cost me anywhere from 100%-900% more then they should. example. i wanted to add a irrigation system later after the build. the well pump was not big enough to support it.upgrade fee $975, cost difference at lowes and home depot $110-$120 (this was before one was installed at all) .. want to do your own flooring sure no problem but we are only going to credit you a few hundred dollars and the cost is on you (in my case it was 6k) want a custom shower head that you provide ...you gota fight with them and in the end its $1000's to install....they are a great cookie cutter builder that doesn't like to let you in on anything till its done but i would not recommend them as a custom home builder it will cost you 8 times as much. site supervisor mike is the absolute worst. he doesn't even want me to be near the house until it's done, I think that's because they keep messing everything up from little things like the siding being put on in the wrong place to the trusses being put on backwards
ReplyDeleteDavid Benvenuto have you purchase your home yet?
ReplyDeletenot yet there only 3 months behind. my biggest issue is one I think a lot of people will have. walking into this I was financed for what I wanted. I didn't do many extras and to compensate the ones I did I installed my own wood flooring throughout tile backsplash, tile bathroom and shower. That was all out of pocket for material and my only labor. now here's my problem mortgage companies will only approve you for up to what the home appraises for. my appraisal came back 15k less meaning at closing I have to pay that 15k before my down payment. Also meaning that equity is not in my home. keeping in mind I've already spent over that in flooring ... bottom line the homes are over priced and the proof is in the home appraisal
DeleteI would have to agree that CVE Homes is very difficult to reason with when issues arise. Any time a mistake happens CVE Homes will go out of their way to sweep it under the rug and make the client feel like they are the one who's wrong. No favors here. The Impact Real Estate sales team is the only good thing about this builder.
ReplyDeletedifficult doesn't even begin to explain it
